Mobile App for FlatPress
  • Does anyone know if someone around here is interested to develop a simple mobile app for FlatPress? It wouldn't need to be a big app. Just as basic as Google's Blogger app is.

    Thanks. :)
  • If there is a blogging client like Windows Live Writer that works on your phone/tablet, then yes, just install the Remote Blogging plugin and you're good to go.
  • Okay, I finally had some time to check it out.

I was able to make the Remote Blogging plugin work when PrettyUrls is disabled, but not when it's enabled.

When looking at http://mydomain.com/?xmlrpc I'm getting the following message:
Notice: Undefined index: PATH_INFO in /home/public_html/fp-plugins/prettyurls/plugin.prettyurls.php on line 245
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

When PrettyUrls is disabled, the notice isn't there and I'm able to connect with Live Writer, so I assume the notice is what may be preventing Live Writer and the blog from properly seeing each others.

Let me know what I should do to make this notice go away, as I want to use both PrettyUrls and Remote Blogging.

    Thanks. :)
  • try and disable notices by writing

    error_reporting(E_NONE);

    in your /defaults.php
  • I added the line you suggested, I still get the same notice when looking at /?xmlrpc.

    Any other idea? :)
  • that's strange. however, what if you use  http://mydomain.com/index.php?xmlrpc or  http://mydomain.com/index.php/?xmlrpc as your endpoint?
  • Okay, it's working with /index.php/?xmlrpc. I no longer get the notice and Live Writer connects to my blog properly.

Thank you very much for your help. :)
  • Going back to the original query, I haven't found any mobile apps that work with Flatpress xmlrpc. Are there any I've missed? The Wordpress app looked promising but it appears to only connect to Wordpress blogs. Windows Live Writer works great but there's no version of that for iPhone/Android etc.
  • see if there is something here http://onebiginternet.com/2011/01/10-useful-android-apps-for-mobile-blogging-2/
  • After some search... and after asking my self what I actually want to do when I'm mobile, I figured it was much easier to do the following:

Use the Twitter plugin and post my stuff to Twitter when I'm mobile. My tweets are going to be posted on my blog automatically from Twitter, thanks to the following plugin:

That is some good work! :)
