Moving Search Bar

I would like to move the search bar to the header at the right hand side...it appears that unless I move some code, the widget application does not allow for this option. Assuming I am correct, what code would I need to move to make this happen. Please let me know if it can be made.
Also, I would like to add a nav bar in the header and move the menu options from the right panel to the header. Is that possible? Obviously it would need to be responsive.
