A typical personal blog may post no more than 200 entries per year, that's about 2,000 articles in 10 years' time, or less than 10 thousand posts in half century.
Without indexing and caching, is there any potential tech limit for the original search function of FlatPress to handle such volume of txt files-based article data? How can we improve the search performance while keep the scrpits lean and simple as usual? Thanks.
Is Search Function Scalable?
Re: Is Search Function Scalable?
Hi,
I have a private blog with 460 entries and the search works very well. If you don't type a keyword in the search, you will get to the advanced search with the possibility to search in categories or dates.
A long time ago there was a user who had a blog with more than a thousand posts per year. At some point he split his blog into years, one Flatpress installation per year. I'm not sure if he use Flatpress actually

Hi LeMonde,
flatpress.org itself has "only" a few hundred entries, and searching works within a blink of an eye. No delay noticable beyond reloading the page.
Did you experience any performance issues on the search in your FlatPress installation already?
All the best
Arvid
