Contact form not working

Post by joticakr » Tue Aug 24, 2021 10:09 am

Hello,

I use the standard contact form but it is not working. If I enter name, mail address and text, I get the reply that the mail was not possible to send. A correct mail address is in the site configuration.

Is there any way to narrow the issue down?

Best regards,
Johannes

Does your server send emails ordinarily?

I can send mails over msmtp, if it's what you want to know.

Hello,

I got it working by changing the ownership of /etc/msmtprc to www-data:www-data.
But now root is not able to send mails. Any idea how to solve this?

Hello,

it seems that flatpress uses my msmtp installation (root sending mails for finished tasks) for the contact form. I thougt that php has an included mail function which is used for this. Is that right?

Okay, one step further.

I installed sendmail and now the contact page gives me the green label that the massege was successfully sent. But I doesn't receive any massage.

Regards,
Johannes

Hier meine Lösung:

mittels setfalc www-data die nötigen Rechte für /etc/msmtp gegeben.
