Is it possible to limit the number of comments that are displayed in the right hand panel and if so, what code needs to be edited.

Hi,

change the value of the LASTCOMMENTS_MAX constant in plugin.lastcomments.php to your needs.

All the best,
Arvid

That doesn't seem to work. I changed it to 3 and it still shows 4 comments. Not only that, the top comment seen has been deleted from the article that it applied to but is still being displayed.

Hi, please try to clear the template caches - does this solve the problem?

Yes, that got rid of all the comments, none of them are visible in the panel now.

All of them? Shouldn't there be 3 left?
But we had such an issue already, see https://github.com/flatpressblog/flatpress/issues/85. The Last Comments plugin works on the cache afaik - still need to inspect that.

This problem has existed since October 2010, when fabrix made the first version of this plugin available. It was never removed because most Flatpress users at this time had disabled the LastComments plugin.
Comments were used as a link base to internet pages at that time, partly also by robots and you had 20 comments at once with all kinds of bad words :o
