Entry Cover Plugin (Beta)

Post by franah » Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:08 am

I guys, I created an Entry Cover Plugin, to show covers in the entries.

It is in "beta" versión. I need people to test it.

Please dont use it in your personal/proffesional website, first, I want to test it well.

Link: https://wiki.flatpress.org/res:plugins:entrycover

The link include a tutorial to install and use.

Works like a charm :)
Do you have a website online that runs the plugin productively?

No, I do not have :(

But I'll share a couple of screenshots later, when I'm done testing it better. :D

Hi, here some screenshots of the plugin:

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a small bug when using the [cover] tag, to fix it, you have to also use the closing tag: [cover] [/ cover]

The Plugin works great with FP 1.2, but not with 1.4. I tried to modify it, but unfortunately I'm not a programmer. Did anyone get the plugin working with Flatpress 1.4?

Hello wjar,

The plugin requires the Smarty php tag.

However, Smarty no longer supports the php tag since version 4.0.0 rc.0 (2021).

I will take a look at the plugin when I get the chance.

Frank

Thanks for the reply. I also recognized, that the entry cover image is saved in the file entry*.txt but will not be loaded when re-editing the post and you have to re-assign the entry cover image.

Hello Wolfgang,

I have modified the plugin in a few places. Tested with FlatPress 1.5.dev/ Smarty 5 – but should also work with FlatPress 1.4/ Smarty 4.

If you have been using the discontinued Smarty {php} tag in your templates, please remove it. I have also updated the wiki article – you will find all the details there.

Best regards,
Frank

Hello Frank,
wow, I'm speechless, thank you very much, it works. Now I can start working with the changeover of my site to Flatpress.
