Statistics, content, time, buttons

Post by LefLandru » Fri Dec 12, 2025 6:40 pm

I'm liking the FlatPress blog script more and more! But...

I have a lot of questions.

1. How do I change the date and time of an existing post?

2. How do I display the post time? Currently, it only displays the year, month, and date.

3. How can I create (find a plugin) that would show the full blog content?
Like this - http://eftel.ru/contents_all.html - to display both yearly breakdowns and pagination.

4. How can I create (connect a plugin - I think there is one) statistics?

5. Version 1.4.1 - dragging and dropping the blog to the top menu doesn't work. Sections drag and drop, but they don't display (currently, Alex's theme works here, but...)

6. Why aren't all the static menu items displayed? I added a lot of items, but only three are displayed.

7. Here on the blog - http://y.eftel.ru - how do I reduce the font size of the right-hand menu? It looks ugly right now.

8. forum.flatpress.org - that's great! But is there Russian-language support?

Thanks!

My experience:
Post time / date display depends (at least also) on used Theme.

My experience with Theme "Leggero":

Date and Time shown below Posting

FlatMistyLoook
Image
Time and Date buggy above posting, no timestamp below posting

So please tell some more concerning your Installation!

Hello LefLandru,

I refer you to this issue
LefLandru wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 6:40 pm 2. How do I display the post time? Currently, it only displays the year, month, and date.
This is not an error in the FlatPress repo. The error lies in the theme used. Search for the file entry-default.tpl in the theme concerned. Then insert the following in a suitable place:

Code: Select all

{$date|date_format:"`$fp_config.locale.timeformat`"}

Try the Entrylist plugin.
LefLandru wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 6:40 pm 4. How can I create (connect a plugin - I think there is one) statistics?
Currently, there are no statistics (visitor counters, etc.) for the frontend.

Step by step; how do you proceed? Screenshots?

It's been a long time since I took Russian lessons. So no.

Have a relaxing weekend.

User statistics: a few words about the past and present.
In the past, between 2007 and 2012, it was almost always possible to identify a visitor's web browser with 70% certainty. Today, in 2020 and beyond, this is technically impossible. Why?

Many search engines, crawlers, robots (both good and bad), and other types of automated programs are now able to masquerade as normal web browsers. Why? Simply to prevent any attempts to distinguish a unique visitor from the many other programs.
Today, in 2020 and beyond, it is no longer technically possible to distinguish a robot/crawler from a realistic visitor. Even factors such as unique IP addresses, visit times, reading cycles, and length of stay on the website are implemented similarly by robots/crawlers today so that no one can be uniquely identified.
What does a real webmaster want?
To know how many visitors they have and to keep other, sometimes unwanted visitors away from the website.

Back to FlatPress: yes, there was a top statistics plugin called FPStats 0.3.2 for FlatPress in 2013, but it has since been discontinued.
One of the reasons is that it is no longer possible to uniquely identify visitors...

best regards
Laborix
