I will try this the next few days.

Original FlatPress Github 2986 files from tonight and a completely new setup. Nothing changed, just FlatPress original and some new articles to test. It could also be an openSUSE problem, I will repeat this on the Debian 12 server with PHP 8.5.1.

Many thanks :)

So, another test early in the morning before coffee ;)

The issue with the newsletter and moving it in the widgets has been resolved. After activating the newsletter plugin, you cannot move the newsletter widget, but you can move the widgets that you want to remove from the widget bar or widgets that are not yet in the widget bar. However, the newsletter widget does not move on my FlatPress Installation.

I will try a bit more the netx days

Base: openSUSE 16.0 server, Nginx 1.27.2, and PHP 8.4.10

Okay, the problem with moving the newsletter and widget has been solved. After clearing the browser cache in Konqueror 25.04 (KDE Plasma 6.4.2), moving works in FlatPress Github 2974 and FlatPress Github 2986. Sending the newsletter registration email via the frontend also works.

Step 2, emojis, well, here it's the same situation as with the : sunglasses :, no matter which emoji is used, only the lettering of the :used_emoji : appears.

Code: Select all

Title: Quick & dirty test ~ and = go : smiley :

Here's a totally pointless question.

If FlatPress Github 2986 displays emojis correctly in the content but not in the title of a post, is it possible that the title text is filtered differently than the content? Like with a sanitized filter or something similar?

best regards

There is simply no filter for this. Only from today's commit 2991 onwards.

Frank

Okay, it seems that the latest FlatPress Github 2993 has improved, and the title with emotji works now ...
The deed is done :D

Edit:
tested the Check for newer versions, now working fine, also the support data. Get all infos about my Installation.

Edit 2:
The Restore permissions for productive operation not working on openSUSE 16 with Nginx, but there are no more PHP errors/warnings.

Addendum to the post on Fri, Jan 09, 2026, 9:31 p.m. (see above).
The emotji is only displayed correctly in the frontend; in the administration panel, the emotji is replaced by a : smiley :, i.e., only the text that is stored.
I noticed this while I ported an old FlatPress 1.0.3 theme to FlatPress 2993 and played around with it a bit.
