Is it possible to synchronize FlatPress calendar and blog?

Post by MilesIan » Fri Jan 16, 2026 1:04 pm

Hi, I use FlatPress for my little personal blog (the no-database aspect is really cool), but I'm stuck on something.
I have a tool that lets me synchronize my various Google calendars so I don't have duplicates in my schedule. I'd like to display my availability or upcoming appointments directly on a page of my blog, but without it becoming too complicated.
Has anyone managed to integrate a synchronized calendar feed into FlatPress? Is there a simple plugin, or do I have to manually hack a widget?

Hello MilesIan

Caution: Runs like a bag of nuts. And I haven't done any long-term testing.

Requires at least FlatPress 1.5 RC2, as I used core functions that were not yet available in FlatPress 1.4.1.

And there is an incomplete wiki article.

'Runs like a bag of nuts' sounds promising... I'll keep my expectations low then! The main issue is I’m still on FlatPress 1.4.1. I’ll have to get around to updating to 1.5 RC2 before I can even give this a go. Which plugin is that in your screenshots exactly? I don't mind a bit of a fiddle with an incomplete wiki if it gets the job done.
Cheers for the help.

For testing purposes, you can also install FlatPress 1.5 RC2 as an additional instance in a different directory. I don't expect any complications.

I simply named the plugin iCalFeed plugin. The wiki page (and Download) is now up to date and complete. I have just installed an update to version 1.0.3. If you have any questions or problems with the plugin, just post them in this thread.

Best regards,
Frank
