I'm really sorry about that. I just didn't have the disposable income any longer to pay for the hosting fees. :( I had to cut back on what I could do on-line. It wasn't anything to do with FlatPress. If I do get a chance to put up another blog, it will be a FlatPress blog.

If Admin thinks it's best to remove this thread from the forum, I completely understand.

No costs?

So here in Germany we have to pay for the electricity... ;)

Maybe a service of another FP user could help here: https://eshost-com-ar.translate.goog/ho ... r_sch=http

no costs what so ever
blue onyx is free
flatpress is free
no ip for a free domain name
just your time to set it up
here is some basics
https://www.mypoppy.uk/blog/static.php?page=This-server
you will need to open ports on your router like 80 444 22 but thats simple

George, your statement "no costs what so ever" is wrong. Repeating yourself doesn't make it less wrong.
  1. As already mentioned, electricity is not free.
  2. Maybe getting a used computer is not free.
  3. Time is not "free", because you won't live forever.
To cut power costs, probably a used Raspberry Pi for hosting at home could be good enough: https://www.instructables.com/Raspberry ... og-server/

But it depends on the number of visitors and offered content, i.e., serving lots of videos is probably a bad idea.

Thank you, George, for your suggestion. I think what you're suggesting here is hosting my own server. It's a great idea and I used to do this (using Linux and Apache), before moving out of the city and off of the grid. We now live out in the middle of nowhere, off-grid, and the only access to the Internet we have is via our cell phone hotspot. But, we also save on expenses by not having unlimited bandwidth. So, hosting from home isn't feasible right now.

However, Byethost may be just what I'm looking for. I'm just checking them out and it looks as though you can install Flatpress with one of their free accounts. So, there's hope. :D

From https://byet.host/index.php/free-hosting:
Along with all this, we provide free FTP, PHP 5.3, MySQL and our very popular feature
PHP version 5.3? Really?! :o
PHP 5.3 is no longer officially supported as of 30 Jun 2012. That's only ten years back.

FlatPress requires PHP 5.6. :!:

Seems to be working, though! http://my64.iblogger.org/press/ :D It says that I'm now running Flatpress 1.2.1. Is that the latest stable release?

Now, I just need to start migrating my blog posts to my new Flatpress install. I'm a very happy camper.
