502 Bad Gateway

Hello all,

I have two Flatpress webpages each behind an nginx reverse proxy with completely identical settings.
One webpage started giving me "502 Bad Gateway" if I try to edit or create a blog entry. After I empty the theme and template cahce, it works one time, then again the 502 appears. Did someone have an idea what moght be wrong and where I can look for failure?

Best regards and many thanks in advance,
Johannes

Johannes,

this is odd indeed. Do you have the PrettyURLs plugin enabled? Maybe it creates an .htaccess related glitch - does it help to deactivate it?

All the best,
Arvid

Hi Arvid,

I disabled the plugin, but the behaviour stayed the same. :(

This is what irritates me completely :?

Can you reproduce this behaviour with a fresh FlatPress install on that server?

Hi Arvid,

sorry for my late response. I setup a fresh install and it works like a charm. After I copied the fp-content folder into it (I finished the first setup with the same user and password as the old one), the same error occured again. Now I have to delete the cache folder in fp-content every time I want to go to the maintanance, plugin or uploader page.

So something inside the fp-content folder causes the error. Might be data of a plugin, e.g. the Comment Center plugin stores its data there (fp-content/plugin_commentcenter/).
Please have a look for plugin related folders in there, maybe deactivating such a plugin or deleting/resetting its data solves the problem permanently.

Alternative idea: What about the themes? Maybe your theme has some kind of template error that causes broken cache data. Does the problem occur with the default theme Leggero?

Let us know :)
All the best
Arvid

Hey Arvid,

I wish you a happy new year!
I don't know why and I don't know how, but the problem solved itself. No change made from my side and now it's working again.
