Comment Identifier
Comment Identifier
I'm helping a friend set up his blog which is also a flat file based system and I am having a problem figuring out what the comment identifier is. If I could figure out what the identifier is for flatpress, perhaps I can then figure out what it is on my friend's system. The url for the posted article is like this: https://domain/blogsystem/post/all-my-notes-organizer if that helps anyone.
Re: Comment Identifier
Hi,
could it simply be the unique ID of a comment?
For example, take a look at this FlatPress post: https://www.flatpress.org/2022/01/29/cu ... 220-130321 - with the trailing "#comment220220-130321" you will be taken directly to the requested comment when the page loads.
All the best,
Arvid

Re: Comment Identifier
Thanks for your response Arvid. Yes, that is what I'm looking for, the unique ID of a specific article that will identify which article the comment will be written for. Unfortunately, the link I used in my original post to this forum is the link that is displayed after you click on the article title and it is possible I am not seeing the unique ID.
Re: Comment Identifier
It's super easy to display it
Add the variable somewhere to your fp-interface/sharedtpls/entryadminctrls.tpl - once logged in, you can see the ID of each entry.
Let me know if that helps

Add the
Code: Select all
{$id}Let me know if that helps

Re: Comment Identifier
Thank you Arvid, I can now see the id of the article. Hopefully I will be able to take that information and apply it to HMTLy for my friend.
UPDATE: Unfortunately I still can't figure out how to get it to work, so it looks like he will have to use the Disqus comments system.

Re: Comment Identifier
Doesn't HTMLy have some kind of support forum? They might be a better help in this case
Re: Comment Identifier
Hashover comment system works with HTMLy out of the box so this post can be eliminated.
Re: Comment Identifier
No need to eliminate
