CKEditor 4 Plugin

Hello everyone,

I took Franah's CKEditor-plugin as an opportunity to create a "non CDN" version. However, this is also no lightweight and weighs 12MiB. The advantage is that this CKEditor 4 is open source and the source files are on your own web server. You can find all the details as usual in the Wiki.

Good idea, but there is a huge problem.
CKEditor4 has reached its EOL in June 2023, so the most recent release is CKEditor5.
Don't worry, if you check on GitHub you can find all the sources.
Is it possible to upgrade this plugin?

Hello Eagleman,

I was aware of the EOL, so I included it in the wiki article.
Theoretically it would be possible to switch to CKEditor 5. The license model has changed with CKEditor 5. It feels like half of the available, interesting plug-ins are "premium plug-ins" and therefore subject to a fee. Some of the user data (images, documents, etc.) is also stored in the CDN (cloud service) - an uncontrollable environment in my opinion. In addition, you have to prove that our FlatPress project is GPLv2 compatible for an open source license. The latter would be the least of the problems.

If the FlatPress community is interested, I would be happy to ask about an open source license and its obligations.
