Warm-up: FlatPress 1.5 - Community Test

Post by fraenkiman » Thu Nov 27, 2025 9:21 pm

Hello everyone.

I am kicking off the new FlatPress 1.5 test phase with a warm-up round. To this end, I have created a test plan that covers the test points for corrections and new features in FlatPress 1.5. The test plan was created in line with the changelog.

Before we get started, please take a look at the test plan.

Are the test steps clear, or is anything missing? If so, please post it in this thread.

The test object is available here.

I wish you all a wonderful first day of Advent.
Stay healthy.

Best regards,
Frank

Thanks for organizing this testing, Frank! I'm new to the community and love how organized it is. I'll try to do some testing soon.

Hey Frank, I'm following the test plan but ran into a roadblock. In the Checking the preparation section it says to open the Uploader menu and then click on the Storage submenu. I'm not seeing Storage as a submenu item. Has this changed or perhaps it's not showing for me?

Hello m1k3,

The storage plugin does not have a submenu in the admin area. However, it can be found in the "Uploader" top menu.

I have simplified this point somewhat in the test plan.
Thank you for your comment.

I just realized it's because the Storage plugin was not enabled. Should that be enabled by default?

In the current development status, the plugin is not enabled by default. I will enable it by default by the time the RC is released.

However, this also reveals that you are not working through the test plan from top to bottom; possibly all mixed up.

Otherwise, it would be enabled :D .

Ha! Yep, you got me there. I didn't enable all of them. Sorry about that. Testing continues - stay tuned.

I ran into a potential bug with the RSS and Atom Feed plugin. I moved the searchbox widget under the RSS and Atom Feed widget but the search widget remained above the RSS widget. Furthermore, when I disabled the searchbox widget, it caused the RSS and Atom Feed widget to duplicate on the front-end.

Actually, I realized after posting the message above that it's not the RSS and Atom Feed plugin/widget. The duplication occurs when you have a disabled plugin but keep it in the right bar area.
